About Marker 16

Built on decades of safety leadership and real-world experience.

Marker 16 Safety Consulting helps organizations protect their people, strengthen operational readiness, and prepare for the risks that matter most through practical planning, credible training, and sound safety principles.

Marker 16 crest

Safety first. Operational credibility always.

Marker 16 carries forward a safety tradition built over decades.

That foundation began with Gary Hill, who served for many years as a watercraft safety manager with the U.S. Department of the Interior. His work included the development of marine safety programs for boating, airboat, and powerboat operations, programs that went on to be used at a national level.

That same focus on practical, defensible safety carried into a family safety business, where marine safety training and hands-on operational instruction became the starting point for a broader approach to safety education.

Randy Hill continued that work and expanded into additional areas including nationally recognized ATV safety training, CPR, First Aid and AED, defensive driving, CDL and DVIR training, equipment safety, and other occupational safety programs.

Marker 16 is the continuation of that experience and standard. The scope has expanded, but the principle has not changed: safety should never be treated as a formality, and shortcuts should never take priority over people.

Why Marker 16 Exists

Safety should mean more than paperwork.

Marker 16 was created to carry forward a standard of safety based on responsibility, competence, and preparation. We believe organizations deserve more than generic training, recycled policies, or paperwork written only to satisfy a requirement.

Our purpose is to help clients identify risk before it becomes an incident, prepare people before they face an emergency, and build operational capability that can stand up to real-world conditions.

Practical guidance. Honest assessment. Training that prepares people to make better decisions when it matters.
